Lens - f:3.5 50mm coated viewing and taking lens (faster f:2.4 model also available). You view and focus through the same lens... see the picture in sharp focus... no parallax. Focus on negative-size ground glass. Magnifier for really critical focusing on close-ups. Pre-set diaphragm... lens closes to pre-set aperture from wide-open setting for focusing. Shutter - Focal plane shutter... speeds from 1/25 to 1/500 sec. and bulb. Synchronized for flash bulbs and strobe. Also has optical eye-level viewfinder for action shots. Automatic film stop and exposure counter. Metal body.

World's first SLR camera with instant-return mirror. The camera featured two marked flash synchronization terminals (F and X). The standard lens was Takumar 50/3.5 (Model II) or Takumar 58/2.4.
