A variant of the standard K1000 with black or brown leather and a split-image focusing screen or a combination split-image/microprism focusing screen (most bodies).

The abbreviation "SE" was not always engraved: sometimes it could just be a sticker.

Since the K1000 SE was indeed a special edition, but not a small batch production model, we decided to list it among other mass production models.

For the 20th anniversary of the release of the K1000, and also for major Japan Camera Shows, the Pentax K1000 SE Gold was produced in very small batches with 24 carat gold plating and high quality red or brown leather trim.
