Manufacturer description #1

Fitting directly between camera and lens these superbly machined extension bellows provide a simple means of producing fascinating close~ups of the tiniest subjects. They are excellent for clinical, nature, macro and micro photography and copying. A bellows is a must for anyone who wishes to extend his photographic capabilities. It will broaden his knowledge of close-up photography and provide an economical means of exploring the field of telephoto photography By providing a single focusing system, a bellows allows the use of inexpensive tele-lensheads in non-focusing mounts. The high-precision rack and pinion focusing of a Novofiex bellows permits continuous, smooth focusing of lenses from close-up to infinity.

The quality features incorporated into a Novoflex bellows are:

1. Precision machined rack and pinion focusing

2. Rugged but extremely lightweight construction

3. All metal parts of anodized aluminum alloy

4. Scratch-resistant baked-on grain finish

5. Sliding track engraved with exposure increase factors for 50, 105, and 135mm lenses

6. Two control knobs for focusing and locking

7. Long-wearing weatherproof bellows

8. 3/8" and 1/4" tripod threads

9. Compact and easy to use

Model I

Economically priced standard two-track model with fixed (non-swivelling) non-interchangeable rear mounts. Front mount has Leica thread which accepts all Novoflex Bellows Lensheads directly or other lenses by using inexpensive Novoflex front mount adapters. Can be used with Novoflex focusing tripod rack.

The Novoflex Bellows Model l is so low-priced that no one can afford to be without it. Bellows plus 105 mm short-mount lens, for instance, will generally cost about the same as a 105 mm lens in focusing mount, but the bellows combination offers far more flexibility:

Close-up and macro photography, reproductions in any scale, frame-filling portraits and continuous focusing up to infinity, use of the universal bellows lens hood and the slide copying attachment etc. In spite of its low price, the Bellows model I is rugged and precise - built to high Novoflex standards throughout.

Manufacturer description #3

Non-interchangeable camera mounts. But these new model I bellows permit swivelling of the camera for view and upright pictures. The lens mount in front accepts camera's lenses. Consequently corresponding adapters (COLEI, EXLEI-K, NIKLEI-K, CANLEI-K, MINLEI-K) are required for use of lens heads with Leica threads.

Such as model S and II the bellows model I are ideal tools not only in macro and close-up phgtography, but also in telephotography where they perform as focusing mounts for lens heads up to 240 mm focal length (plus adapters COLEI etc.). Other accessories:

  • Bellows Lens Hood BALSON
  • Slide Copying Attachment BALCOP-P
  • Focusing Tripod Rack CASTEL (Bellows Models I may be used with CASTEL in close-up and macro photography except slide-copying).
