I just got one for my Sony (adapted). Small, compact lens. Reasonably smooth focusing, the aperture ring is a little crunchy. Typical of an older lens, not super tack sharp, and not quite as much contrast as new lenses (inferior coating in comparison, probably). Shots look rather film like, perhaps nostalgic of the 1970’s.
No vignetting to speak of. Distortion is low, even by modern lens standards.
However, you can pick them up relatively cheap in comparison to new variants (Sony’s latest 24mm F/1.4 will cost you an arm and a leg), so if you can work around the “character” or characteristics of the lens, you can get some nice filmic looking shots.
Haven’t tried it as a video lens yet. That would be a trip!
