Starting today, the website checks if a particular lens is the lightest and/or most compact in its class and displays the corresponding information in the "Highlights" section of the page sidebar.
For example, Samyang AF 18mm F/2.8 FE is the lightest and most compact among the ultra-wide angle primes, and Samyang AF 45mm F/1.8 FE is the lightest and one of the most compact among the standard primes.
Please note that the website only checks autofocus lenses for 35mm full-frame mirrorless cameras. Lenses designed for Canon EOS RF, Leica L, Nikon Z and Sony E systems currently meet these criteria. If new 35mm full-frame mirrorless system becomes available, it will be automatically included in this list.
We do not plan to extend the check on lenses designed for SLR or rangefinder cameras due to the fact that these systems are gradually losing their popularity among a wide range of amateur photographers.
UPDATE: starting August 23, 2020, the website also checks if a particular lens is the fastest in its class.
UPDATE 2: starting August 24, 2020, the website also checks if a particular lens is suitable for travel photography. This check is applied to autofocus lenses designed for all formats and systems, and not only to 35mm full-frame mirrorless systems.
