Six different lenses were available using this system, replacing many of Leica older telephoto lenses. The system consisted of 2 different lens heads and 3 different focusing mounts, giving a choice of 4 different focal lengths: 280mm, 400mm, 560mm and 800mm, and two different maximum apertures at 400mm and 560mm.
The lens heads are:

These produce the following lens combinations:
All the combinations incorporate electronic coupling for the Leica R8 and have apochromatic correction which is maintained even when either the Apo-Extender-R 1.4x or 2x is used.
Both lens heads have a carrying handle fitted with a sighting device for rapid alignment, and a rotating tripod mount with click stops for landscape or portrait formats: intermediate positions can also be set by means of a locking screw.
The focusing modules have a filter drawer which accepts Series 6 filters. An NDx1 filter was supplied as standard and must be inserted when no other filter is employed.
